Bahaha I have 2 followers on my blog? Damn. Anyway, here is the latest and greatest. Only a few things happening..got back into party mode, juuuust when summer has finished and the weather has gone to shit. Another damn.
Also went to Tokyo. Soooo amazing.

My parents were in London for the weekend. Harrods, Hyde Park, Brick Lane...

Then I booked my flights to Tokyo and was there within 48 hours...Waaa!

TOKYO IS AMAZING!

We went to SAGLIFE office. Yoshi was amazing, such a great guy - and we chose styles for Shop 14.

The Dice x dice Exhib was fun - quite boozy... to launch 4TN and FGLDN clothing in Japan.

W-BASE was my fave shop by far! Moto, Yohei, all the guys were rad. Everyone just hung out the front and illed - their sticker collection is the best.

John Prolly one of my fave dudes..! Hanging out w-base..Him, Joe Brooklyn and Kyle Tracko were rad guys.

It was Matsuri festival time. Lots of men in shorty shorts

We were able to go Kalavinka!! Mr Tanabe doesnt do visitors that often, so it was amazing to be there. He showed us the moulds he has to make luggs,and also his first carbon frame. Dooooooope.

Hal looked after us so well. We went to the best food spots!

Bambi got some new kicks, by his friend Alexander Lee Chang who did a collab with Vans. Im not a massive fan of hi-tops but these are swish..

I tried 0% beer, what the hell! And Ted had Corona which comes with a sache of lime juice...!

We stopped by a temple. The stairs to get it to it were STEEP. Man! Ted bought some stuff for Poppy, while we watched the Coy get gnarly!

We spent a day visiting stores- so many good ones!
Out the front of Dreamworks. The Australian guys were so much fun! Andy Fyxamatosis, Casper and the other boys from Perth, and Ben from Melb, such genuine guys!!!

I got back to London Sunday morn 9am. Jas, Tom and I hit flower market and Brick...ahh sunshine!!!

Donlon Books on Broadway Market..sickest shop...picked up Bad Day Mag which is great, newest issue of Butt ONLY because its the straight issue and hilarious. Jack from Thomas St Post Office Store in Manchester sent me Reed Pages (feat. Joe from Brooklyn Machine Works...yay!) thankyou!!. Someone from Fixe dropped us some copies of the new mag. Its interesting. And Jitensha, amazing japanese mag with great illustrations!

I could live my life taking advice from Fortune Cookies. They are always RIGHT. Fuck!

Andy brought some stuff back for me from Tokyo. So sweet... Rip's book - RipZinger NYC...Copies of Common mag yaaaaaaaay.A copy of Frank151 extra yay. -They had the Frank issue when De La Soul guest curated in Kinfolk..RAD. Also, some cute socks, Benny Gold skate wax, Benny Gold wax glider (what doesnt he do?!) and to top it all off a cute note from Bambi and Yuki...that ones priceless!

Loads of mags including Japanese porn...really softcore! haha...not sure who brought this back, Andy or Ted, Im kind of worried...

On the other side of the world, my sister Jo has been making jewellery. Amazing. She's just been to San Fran, Phoenix, NYC and then back to San Fran!! (On the right is some nail oohla we got in Tokyo for Sharma - something WahNails never seen...!)

But yeah Tokyo was amazing. The people I met, illed with, mannn I feel lucky to have met them. Cant wait til everyone comes to visit us in London! I need to learn some Japanese...

You know how people write ' My ideal sunday would be...' well I was thinking about it - and its pretty much how I spend it every week.
Wake up, chuck the kettle on, tea, head down to Colombia Road flower market, coffee at Nick's, pick up some Peony's, head to Brick and check out what the china man has in parts, then look for a steel 1pound 15ml spanner (where have they all gone?!) get to work and chill all day. Afterward varies. Staying back at the shop, go to London Fields and drink in the sun, or just go home and watch a good doovd.

I got sunflowers this time. And a flower sculpture from that guy that does it for a buck and I usually say no to, but this time said yes. And I got a rose too infact. Just in black and white...

So finally I am motivated. Finally!!! Fuck. Anyway things are underway for the magazine - I interviewed Sanna and Juliet yesterday - they were so great, couldnt have answered my questions better!

Got Peony flowers from the Colombia Road - so amazing - although they look better on my arm! Mmm maybe I should have got colour...

Went to Frith St after hours and Stefano tattooed me for his portfolio. I dont know why, as he is really really good already. And has only been tattooing for 5 months. So so good.

Met Dagmara today for PingPong. They had really good toilet paper and we need some...bahahaha steeping so low...! But the food and tea was worth it.

Stolenspace has been rented out for a few days and tonight was the launch for a new skateboard exhibition - kind of like No Comply but not. Stu's was the best by far!! Fuck yeah!! But Lucas Deverell's, was good too. I only met him today.

So much to do. So little time... And Issue 4 is ready to arrive on Friday..shit thats tomorrow? I think Ive already mentioned it looks like the best one so far. And in the background I can see Macaframa which has been out on DVD for only a little while, so I just getting your paws on that one.

I got back a few days ago from chillin with the fam in Gdansk, Poland cos my parents have a place there. Sooo much fun. Good food, good times. Bootcamp fun! Then it was Andys birthday on Saturday so we started off at Broady Markets for some Climpson and Son coffee and people watching. I got him some bday cupcakes .. pic on his flickr fixedgearlondon.

We rode to the city - Magma, Apple, Hideout, Vans all on the list...only because I just got my Australian Tax Return! Thanks Kev. Haha. The afternoon ended at Lock 7. So cute!

So we didnt end up opening the shop yesterday - so Andy and I chilled at the markets with Josh and Ted. Ended up at the Golden Heart pub and next thing I know we have to return some dvd's and chill at London Fields in the sun for some more cider.
I think the boys were already drunk from the night before. Mayhem!
I bought a cute dress at the markets too...Im gonna dye it black for extra sass. Pic up soon!

We got back from Bright Tradeshow a few days ago. HOLY SHIT I cannot even explain how much fun it was. The crew was hilarious - pretty much laughing the whole van ride there. (Oooh thats niiice Keanu...How was school today Yatiiiii!!) Yep, all 9 of us in the Vans sponsored TigerTours van (which was pimp by the way...better than expected.)
We drove from London all the way to Frankfurt, Germany - where Bright Tradeshow is held. Its in the biggest old police station you've ever seen - with old cells and strange vibe. Most of that has changed because of all the stickers EVERYWHERE and each room occupied by a skate or streetwear brand. There is a massi skate park in the middle - and on the third level of the building there is the most amazing wooden skatebowl youve seen is yo life. Fo real.
FGLDN, we were invited by Bright to exhibit and introduce fixedgear bikes. Well, its their second time there but still, man, Thomas and Toby looked after us hella good. Paid for everything and made us feel like family. Riding around Frankfurt was the best!! We pretty much had the best crew ever. I cant wait to see them when they visit London in a few weeks and more so, Bright Winter in January...itll be the 10th Anniversary show!! Sick!!

So alot has been happening.
Jo and I are embarking on a hush hush project, finished the Benny Gold article for Issue 4, organising Bright Tradeshow for FGLDN!
We've re-arranged the warehouse and nearly finished it! Louis arrives from Paris tomorrow to stay for 3 months.. ahh so excited! There has been alot of painting been done, tile scrubbing and putting together IKEA pieces. Ollie from Melbourne has been over too and I cant say how happy I am to have him! Jacob has gone to New York so we had a spare room for 2 weeks. Ollie is the funniest, FUNNEST!

So before London I stopped in Sydney to see my awesome friend Dan (http://hope-you-enjoy-theshow.blogspot.com). He is that awesome that I spent 3 days with him in Bondi. Yes he lives in Bondi and it is sick!! Everyone is tan and beautiful and have beautiful babies. Damn them!!

I havent been to Sydney since I was a youngen, but its actually pretty rad. The beaches man!!! They are the best. I didnt get to see any Bondi Rescue dudes damn! but got to ill at 4 of the amazing beaches the coast has. Mackenzie was the ultimate!

Also checked out all the galleries I wanted to visit, and especially made it for No Comply 09 feat Krink! Hell yeah... and they also had an addition of Monkey's 2 decks...sick!!

Ill definitely be retiring there when Im older. Sydney for the summer, Melbourne for the winter...

The 6 days in Melbourne were crazy as I knew theyd be! Partying with the raddest people I know, going to all the galleries I love and seeing their new exhibitions, hanging out down Brunswick st, city (magnation!) and St Jeromes. Ahhhh! The greatest times.

I also got the most amazing tattoo from Tim at Tattoo Magic on Gertrude. My second with him. I love it! And managed to score two sick windbreakers from Nike outlet! hell yeah. And catch up with all the people I wanted to see.

Cant wait to get back there. And to Stephens house with all the rats! haha. Kidding! thanks for letting me stay wid you boy. x

So its time to say goodbye....

Goodbye sushi train splurge. Goodbye amazing beaches and fun morning swims (salt water cures anything!! even a hangover). Goodbye Jettys with everyone who rocks - you paid me well on sundays. Goodbye walking around the house naked when everyone is out. Goodbye personal space and 60 minutes and amazing central market food in our fridge pretty much 24/7. Goodbye the most amazing people I know - you are the greatest - I will miss you most!!!

Ride Hard Exhib

A few weeks ago I curated a photographic exhibition in my hometown of Adelaide. It was held at Valueking Gallery on Hindley St (thanks Andy, Jamie and Aaron). The photographs documented the rise of fixed gear riding in Adelaide. I wanted to showcase amazing photographs (taken by Sven Kovac) and celebrate the fixed gear culture in other parts of the world like Paris and London (with photographs thanks to Luis David Najar and Jordan Buck). As the boys didnt have a liquor license, the event was sponsored by Pimp Juice.

Few photos from the night below. It was a mass success...heaps of crew came to check it out. Plus we had a screening of Council of Doom which was sick!!! Loved it. Not better than Mash, but better than Maca in my books..

Big Day Out with ma ladies! The best festival in australia - with the biggest names. Ah I love lupe. And BDO. Even though we were sweating it out in 40 degree heat this yr - it was well worth it. Hell yeah.

Rocket Bar - it just has great memories of times past, and the crowd is always the best people in adelaide. ha! and the music is dooooooope. what more could u want? yes free drinks would be good...

Bonfire action at Courts shack for the best New Years Ever....big call I know. But it was sick!!!

Free ticks to Electric Field festival...got abit of tan, heard some good music, got to catch up with Ben from Melb before the groupies got to him haha

Electric Circus for some good dancin..okay the music is pretty shit when aaron isnt on, but the company is what its all about.

Its been good to be back home - alot of time to catch up on things Ive wanted to do for ages.

And I cant forget the best things about living at home. Numerous..
Being able to read and fall in love all over again with all my old magazines, unlimited wardrobe space and access to all my old favourite items of clothing, access to our amazingly stocked fridge with all my favourite food and dads tea which he blends to perfection, my bed complete with pink (what the hell was i thinking?!) 'i am gorgeous' quilt which is the comfiest thing ever!! I wish for cold nights just because of it. Working back at the surf store, working with some of the greatest people I know and then hanging out with my best friends after - i couldnt ask for more.

Bumping into peeps on the street, is the best and hardly ever awkward..even though I havent seen some people for years. Everyone is pretty much the same - personalities grown, but changed in a good way. Everyone has grown up!

Including me. And damn but I feel I have outgrown this city. A damn shame as Ill miss Coopers and Maslins fo sho.

Found a write up about Blek Le Rat after I heard him talk about street art along with Remi Rough at the Tate.

He was so modest, knowledgable and genuine in the way he spoke. His opinion obviously valued by many because the place was packed out.

"As an artist I do not think we truly invent anything at this point. For me it is more about focusing on a memory that I may have had, than actually inventing anything. People recreate what they have seen but with their own vision. It is just how you do it that makes it different than others'' - Blek Le Rat

Im totally feelin it. And its the way people view things that makes this world interesting.

A dude in the audience was whinging how he used some of his same street art in the 2008 Cans Festival. To his reply, Blek mentioned that although it was the same, different people will see it this time and interpret it in their own way in addition to others who have already seen and find a new meaning.

Its what you dont know about a painting, that tells you the most.

Andy and I kicked it up to Paris last Wednesday via Eurostar (by the way which is dooooope-highly recommended) for 4 days.

The weather was great, got to see Jo and Nordine whilst they are living there and met so many amazing people.

Warning: The below images will most probably make you really jealous - better hit up Eurostar website now - start emailing the people you know in Paris and sell that bike you wanted to keep but now can't because you need the cash to buy almond croissants and carby baguettes. Worth it? Hell yes.

Andy and the Eiffel Tower - climbing it is such a trek (well for me, haha) but the view makes it all worthwhile.

So Andy forwarded me a link to his friends blog which got me thinking that I really should update mine -my life is sometimes interesting (not). Loving my lunchtimes kicking it down to the Truman Brewery...the cheap Cafe 1001 delights cannot keep me away.

Although, today I satisfied my visual hunger for some amazing illustration and graphic design.

The current Exhib 'Dunk. Be true', next door to Gloria's, showcasing the iconic Nike Dunk is definitely one to feast your eyes on.

Its true though - its amazing how the Dunk has managed to jump from originally a Basketball shoe, to a shoe adopted by Skaters for its flat soles and then in turn a shoe reknowned for the way it can express individualism.

The Exhib is a great celebration of not only the best shoe ever invented, but an amazing representation of the combination of London's most creative people. With amazing illustrative design to engage you.

Shit I used to love reading Goosebumps books. For a kid like me, they were scary! And fun. Especially the ones where you choose what paths you take and therefore ultimately choosing your fate. I kinda think now, its totally like life. So many friggin choices. Some good, some not-so good. But can any be bad? I guess you can have regrets, (damn I should of bought fruit salad instead of that amazing danish....) some more important than others, (damn I should have listened when they told me to go to Uni after school finishes...) but then again thats life. And as we all know, we learn from our mistakes and create our own paths of life. It if we hadn't of gone down some of the rocky roads then we may not be the people who we are today. Live it, love it.
